This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors... and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE
Directions: Below, you'll notice that I've hidden my favorite number. (Okay, it's not exactly hidden. You will find it in bold red.) Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the gold team, and then add them up.
Entry Form: Once you've added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct total will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to enter. DeleteMy favorite bookstore near me is Half Price Books. So many good books, and also a ton of hard to find things! My most recent discover there was Pop Funkos, and I've been snatching them up as fast as they come in. And at $4.00 a pop (haha), who could resist?!

We have a great local bookstore called The Book Cellar. The best! It is a hole in the wall and the smell of books once you open the door is amazing.

DeleteWe actually have a tiny, and I mean TINY little building in my hometown of Walker, LA called the Bookseller. It's a woman who runs the shop in the front of her home. She let's people trade books for others and it's so home-y. I could stay there all day. And if you ask her to keep an eye out for a certain book she'll make a note and call you if it comes in! This is how I found my first edition of Eragon! I just love people that run shops like this for other book lovers like me.

ReplyDeleteIt used to be Borders (RIP) but now it's Better World Books. They're eco friendly, donate to charity (1 book to kids for every one you buy) and have great deals on used books and stuff. I've found some hard to find ones on there for a great price.

DeleteI love small indie book stores. There's one next to my town called Let's play books! My daughter and I buy our books there. Or we go to 2nd & Charles which is a new and used book store.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite bookstore is a bus away from my town. My native language is Spanish, and the reason this is my favourite bookstore is because I love to read in English and they sell English novels! There's no other place around that has such an amount of YA novels in the language I love.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any around me close since Borders closed. Target is the next thing here in town and it is a small Target. I guess Walmart too is here. I usually go to Half Price Books about 45 minutes away or use Amazon.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite place I've ever visited was this little hole in the wall family owned bookstore I found when I was in vacation four years ago in Michigan City. I don't remember the name but it was insanely cozy and made me think of when they were the norm. Now where I live I either get free books for my Kindle on Amazon, Half Price Books, or even Target!

ReplyDeleteI particularly enjoy the small bookstores that aren't really chain stores because you are more likely to find interesting things to read in those types of stores and I prefer supporting small businesses over big chain ones

ReplyDeleteI gotta go with the Barnes & Noble in downtown Baltimore, MD. It's about 3 or 4 stories and it has balconies on each level you can sit outside and read. It also has a huge section on the first floor of Maryland history books, which I absolutely love!

ReplyDeleteThere's this tiny bookstore called The Book Loft that I always love going into whenever we go to the beach during the summer...they have all sorts of books, even a few classics in their original editions. It feels magical every time I walk in there. I just love it.

ReplyDeleteFoyles is practically my home, ahh <3 They have the most gorgeous huge painted sign welcoming you, saying: "Welcome book lover, you are among friends." When I'm not curled up in bed with my books, I'm curled up on the chairs at Foyles reading! (It's so easy to lose time there... My 10 minute stops somehow fly by to 2 hours without me realising!)

There is something about stepping into a bookstore and smelling the freshly printed pages and seeing rows and rows of possible treasures! I love it!!! Thanks for being a part of this!
